The moving has happened, my old apartment is all cleaned out and Moxie and I are attempting some form of acclimation back in my parents house. This is so totally not how I pictured my life going at the moment, but I'm attempting to make the most of it and hoping against hope that I can figure out some sort of direction for the future, whatever it might be.

Outside of that, Moxie continues to try my patience with all sorts of shenanigans. Last night, [ profile] princessklutz04 told me that my cat gets herself into the most bizarre and impossible situations, or something along those lines. She's right. I think the only person who could give her a run for her money might be [ profile] octobre09's cat Kristopher.

Since Moxie's attempt at tunneling down inside the wall, things have been relatively quiet. I brought her back to the house and I had been keeping her in "my" room, only letting her out when I could supervise her. Yesterday, I finally had to let her out on her own after I lost track of her and needed to leave before I was able to discover her whereabouts. Imagine my surprise when I came home last night and noticed an odd creaking coming from the false ceiling in the den. Luckily, the thing is covered in removable tiles and Moxie happened to be right above me. So, while she wasn't thrilled about it, I was able to find her and get her down in pretty short order.

Unfortunately, there isn't really any way to stop her from doing it again and of course she made her way back up there and managed to scrape her nose on something. Dealing with a bleeding cat isn't exactly what I want to be doing, ever. But, it's not really doing anything more at this point, so hopefully it will heal up quickly.

As far as cat relations go... Sylvia isn't really warming to her. I know she needs time. After all, we're talking about a 11-12 year old cat who has been living or her own since she left her littermates. The big thing now is for them to sit and stare at each other. Sylvia will look away and then look back at her and just growl and Moxie will just sit there. Last night, they decided to do this at the top of the stairs and then Sylvia made the mistake of deciding she wanted to go downstairs after she had gotten Moxie all riled up. She made a move down the steps and Moxie decided she wasn't having any of that. It's the first time I've ever heard her growl in my life.

I could probably watch them go at this non-stop, just observing it all and only stepping in if things go too far. It's just interesting seeing how they are both dealing with the changes. I get that there are a few bizarre feline rituals they need to go through to decide who will be boss. If Sylvia can just get over herself and ignore Moxie, I'm pretty confident she will remain queen. Moxie really doesn't seem to care that much about Sylvia unless she gets in her face, which she seems to be incapable of NOT doing at the moment.
